Whoa! After yesterday’s events with Daily Candy, I’m just in a giving mood. I feel very blessed and I’m lucky to have what I have. Because I’m essentially working 6+ jobs, I find that it’s crazy-difficult to balance everything at times. How do I keep my head up? How do I persevere? How do I know which projects to take on and which ones to let go of? I’ve spent the last year figuring that out, but the biggest help has been this book:
MOM, INC. was written by two amazingly talented women – Meg Mateo Ilasco and Cat Seto. These ladies put us all to shame, but in a good way. MOM, INC. is one of those books that lights a fire inside you and gives you the drive to create. It shares tips from other women in the creative world and how they balance motherhood and work. While I’m not a mother yet (hopeful!), I took so much away from this book. I’ve been given a headstart and will be able to plan for the future I want. I’m honing my organizational skills and learning how to prioritize more efficiently. There are interviews from awesome women like Gabrielle Blair from Design Mom and Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty for moral support.. It’s a great read that you’ll keep coming back to.
This book encourages women everywhere to reach for the sky. Women can have it all. You can have a career and raise a family. It proves that anything you dream for yourself is attainable if you want it to be. It’s like the creative bible for working women everywhere and YOU HAVE TO READ IT.

I would so love to be a wildlife-type photographer! But, alas, there are children. So, I guess I still do take plenty of pictures of animals! :). Loves!
If I knew I couldn’t fail…I would give my small “just keeping track of my favorite recipes” blog more attention so that I can share my awesome recipes with others. Because I have some AWESOME ones!
I’d open a Bed & Breakfast! Ideally, it’d be an an old, run down house that I could build back up. It’s a dream i’ve had for about 6 years – one i’m hoping to actually do in my thirties!
What wouldn’t I do?!?
And why am I not doing it already? Funny how much we talk ourselves out of… I think I’m my own worst critic 🙂 I need to work on that.
i’d homeschool my children…
If I knew I could not fail I would do EVERYTHING! Seriously. Learn to play instruments, learn to speak foreign languages, open my own bed and breakfast on the coast, bake pies every day, become a teacher, sell my photography, travel the world. The list could go on and on and on.
Quit my boring day job and go back to school for graphic design!!
– Do editing of feature-length films
– Open a winery
I’d take one or both. I’m not greedy. 🙂
If I couldn’t fail I would go back to school! My education based on my head not my passion, although I don’t regret that, I’d love to say I did both 🙂
run for president… that was the first thing that came to mind. it’s weird because i’ve never really thought about that before, but if i knew that i could not fail, i just might do it.
If I knew I could not fail, I would run my stationery business and parent my son without any fear or doubt in regards to the whole balancing act! It is definitely a struggle to balance sometimes, without certainty that what I’m doing is “right” or of what the future holds!
I would continue to sew and bless others with the things I make. and run a marathon.

I would quit my day job and train to be a graphic designer. I’ve wanted to do it for years, but I’m too chicken… especially now that I have a little one. I’m afraid of not being able to make enough to support us financially.
I would open up a clothing boutique, invent a few things, and basically rule the world. Love u.
and have my own clothing & jewelry line
Id move to europe! Although that is not really about failing, it is more I have a one year old, a husband who likes his job, etc, etc…

For one, I would be more confident in my Art work and maybe even try selling some. I would experiment more, create, sew, and build things to my hearts content. It would be magical. 🙂

If I knew I could not fail…among the millions of things I could think of, the first that comes to mind is to bring peace to everyone on this Earth. Whether that be hunger, health, or happiness. Just to know that everyone in the world fell asleep that night would be the greatest gift of all. Thanks Lexy for making me think about this, it puts my heart in the right spot!
