Hello, hello, hello!!! We’re having a little gathering with some of our friends on Friday. We’ll be carving pumpkins. I plan to make some treats and I needed a black cake stand to go with my fall day-core. Logan said I couldn’t drop $$$ on a new stand so I decided to make my own. I saw this on Pinterest and knew I could make one. BLAM! You guys, this is seriously such an easy project. You’re going to die.
You need a small terra cotta pot and one of the discs they sit on.
The disc needs to be MUCH larger than the pot as this will be the top.
Put the pot and lid on a poster board on top of a large sheet. Whenever I paint, I do it out in my driveway. For ALLLLLLL the neighbors to see. They love it.
Coat these beauties in spray paint. I used Rustoleum Gloss Protective Enamel in Black. I wanted it to be glossy so it would look like a real stand.
After the pieces have dried, get a hot glue gun and/or super glue and glue them together.
And Voilà! Enjoy your new cake stand!
* I bought brand new terra cotta for the cake stand the doughnuts are on. The ones used in the tutorial are pots I had on hand. That’s why they’re dirty at first. But they worked just fine!
** I cut out a paper circle the size of the inside of the plate and placed it there before putting food down. I wanted food to be on the stand but didn’t want it to taste like paint. Safety first, everyone!
