Friends, friends, cyber-friends. I’m so thrilled to be sharing little miss Vita’s nursery with you today. This was something that I worked day and night on while I was pregnant and is absolutely, hands-down, my most favorite room in our home. I could just hang out in here all day. And you can too! Virtually. See what I did there?
I was able to partner with the amazing folks at Land of Nod and a few other awesome brands to help my nursery dream become a nursery reality. And then I had my amazing friend and photographer, Sally, capture it all. It’s been immortalized. Take a look!
We are currently renting our townhome and so I didn’t have the chance to go all out with a giant painted mural. Answer to my problem? That would be Walls by Mur. These navy triangles were easy to hang (thanks to the help of my OCD Mother) and they are easy to peel off when it’s time to move!
Long before I was even pregnant, I started collecting art for our future bebe. I have artwork for a boy nursery that I’m storing away for now. We are so in love with Colorado and this print by my friend Kirsten suited the nursery perfectly. The Kraken canvas print from Land of Nod is my favorite of the three. The coral color just sucked me right in. I purchased the little print from Brickyard Buffalo & Small Fry years ago for Operation Sandy Hook and just printed it out and framed it myself.
Read all about that custom quilt by Yellow Bug Quilts here!
There’s a LOT more to see so make sure you click after the jump!
Have you ever seen a mobile as lovely as this? Baby Jives has a SLEW of mobiles to choose from and their cloud ones are heart-melting.
This embroidered metallic garland from Land of Nod originally came in rectangles and I just trimmed those suckers down to keep with the triangle theme.
I’m going to go ahead and gloat and tell you that I made the crib bedding myself, I think the only thing I haven’t made myself is the memory foam mattress! That’s right. I’m not a seamstress. I’m not a sewer. Or at least, I WASN’T. After a little trial and error (and about 38 Diet Cokes, not kidding), I was able to get everything just right. A good friend of mine here in Denver stepped in and helped me finish a few of these pillows before Vita made her debut.
I mean, there is piping on that crib bumper. What the?
Aside from the bedding, this DIY gold-leafed dresser is my pride and joy. It took some time and I love how it turned out. We picked up the dresser at a local flea market and gave it a royal makeover. I’ll be sharing the DIY soon!
I couldn’t find any rugs that I loved so I picked up a rug from IKEA and got to painting it with a little latex paint! I’ll also be sharing the how-to for this little guy very soon. Though, you could probably figure it out by just looking at the photo! We do super tricky stencils over here.
Remember when I had the maternity photos taken? I’m incredibly vain and wanted a little print to remind me of how much I loved Vita before I even saw her.
The girl will wear grey. And black. And white. And bright green.
Every nursery needs a shelf and this bookcase fit the bill. White matches everything and it came with enough shelves to display all the books I picked up for Vita-girl last Christmas.
What can you do but rip your heart from your chest?
The chair of all chairs. I dreamed of this chair for years. I’m telling the truth. And now I get to sit in it for about 70% of my day. And I don’t even mind.
Sally was so kind to snap a few photos of me and V in our element. These blurred ones tugged on my heart strings. Kind of reminds me how time is NOT standing still. She was so patient with us and she helped capture this room so well. She’s a crazy-good photog and is currently racking up clients like a mad woman. If I were a mob-boss, I would tell you that you need to call her or else… you know. Dead. I stalk her on Instagram and you should to. Her children are models, I tell you. And that sweet woman just told me that she’s offering sessions at half-price for anyone who reads this here blog! 50% off, people! She also travels a lot (especially to Utah, California, and Florida) so email her and see if you can’t bribe her to come to you.
HUGE thanks to Land of Nod and all the brands that contributed to making this my new womancave.
