There was this party a few weeks ago. With the help of my friend, Megan, I threw a shower for my friend/Megan’s sis-in-law, Sally. She’s just the cutest little thing and wait until you see pics of her mother below. These two are just too gorgeous it hurts. I finally had the chance to put some pics up and wanted to share with you!
We went with an OWL theme. We didn’t want it to be overbearing but you could find hints of little owls throughout the decor and gifts. So fun!
These owl cake pops were the thing I loved the most. They were just so fun to make and I’m DYING for the chance to make them again!
Guests used a ruler (not pictured) and measured out twine with their guess-timate of how big Sally’s belly was. The winners were given s&p shakers that were shaped like owls. Lurve these.
I have so many ball jars and I thought they would be perfect to use as cups. Who doesn’t love stripey straws?!?
This is the garland that I made here. I didn’t have anywhere up high to hang it, so I draped it around the deck. It really helped tie everything together.
To Eat: Wontons with Cream Cheese and Chutney, Fruit Kabobs, Assorted Tea Sandwiches, Chocolate Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting, Mini Sugar Cookie Sandwiches filled with Buttercream, and Owl Cake Pops made with Yellow Cake and Milk Chocolate.
To Drink: Lemon and Lime Infused Water, and Strawberry Pineapple Limeade
Megan, Sally, and Me!
Sally and her mother. Just try and be cuter than these two. It’s impossible!
Love you so much, Sally! Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day!
**UPDATE** 2/8/202
I’ve received so many requests about the how-to for the owl cake pops so I posted a tutorial. Check it out!

Thanks, Lori! The s&p shakers are from Pier 1 Imports. So cheap! I’m sure they have more. 🙂
