I tend to be a little indecisive and so when my Matilda turned one I ended up making three crowns because I couldn’t decide which route to go – miniature, minimal, or traditional.
First, I bought some leather remnants at the local craft store. I paid less than ten dollars for more than enough golden leather plus some other colors I can use for later projects.
Second, I measured Matilda’s head and started cutting away at the leather. I played around with shapes and folded the pieces in half to ensure that I’d have a symmetrical pattern.
Last, I hot glued the end pieces together to form each crown. For the miniature crown I glued on pieces of yarn so that I could easily tie it on to Matilda for her party.
So there you have it, three very easy golden crowns that took less than a half hour to make. Now let’s all wear crowns and call it a day!
