If you see me and Vita in person, you know that her hair is usually done 1 of 2 ways. It’s either the ballerina bun (she’s turned into a diva.), or it is in a little braid twist that I’ve been able to master in under 3 minutes. Which if you have a toddler, you know that they don’t sit still for longer than 3 minutes. It’s physically impossible. A lot of our friends and family have asked me how I do it, and thought it was high time to share a quick tutorial for this Two Step Toddler Braid Hack. Yes, it’s actually a few more steps than two, but there are only two main steps to follow. Hence the shortcut.
Can we pause for minute while I tell y’all how much V loves to be our little model for the camera? Really. Even after I pick her up from preschool, she goes and stands in the garden and asks me to take her picture. Where did this come from?!?! She didn’t get it from me! I’m rarely in photos!
She’s practicing her “shocked” expression. Halloween is right around the corner.
If you’re concerned that your toddler’s hair is too short or too fine, be not afraid! Vita’s hair is almost as fine as baby hair (gets it from her dad!), and it falls about to her collarbone. It still worked! There are products you can use to add some texture. Even just hairspray works! I’ve shared the full step-by-step over on Momtastic, so be sure to head over there to learn all about this braid hack!
I’d love to hear and see some of your favorite hairstyles for kids! Where do you go for inspiration? Youtube? Pinterest? Instagram? The old school magazine?! Please help us. I can’t do another bun…
