Chocolate is just one of those things I won’t give up. And now that I’m a mom, it’s NEVER gonna happen. I live and breath for the stuff. And for Vita, of course! Errr.

The majority of my pals out here in Denver have children. And all the rest of my friends love chocolate. So I like everyone. I’m always wanting to do something special on Mother’s Day for all my mom friends, but there’s a LOT of them. And I can’t give each of them a BIG, grand gift, but I CAN give each of them a custom gift! I got some inspiration from these Custom Boxes that I’d recently seen online, I wanted to make my Mother’s Day especially special this year! Please read on to see these DIY embroidered gift boxes for Mother’s Day.

To make your own you’ll need:

• white & kraft boxes in different foldable shapes
• embroidery thread or twine
• embroidery needle
• scissors

Cut the thread a few feet long and thread through the needle. Starting at one end of the box and working carefully, thread the needle through the box and continue weaving in and out to create any design you like. Tie the ends of the thread in a knot inside the box and you’re set! One of my boxes has a simple zigzag design and the others are geometric and whatnot. That’s what I call the little design – “whatnot”.

Fill the boxes with a few paper shreds and top off with DOVE® chocolate. And lots of it!

I have to say – I’ve never been a fan of straight dark chocolate. It used to be the last thing I would eat and I had to really be starving.
