I’m going to share with you my absolute favorite cookie. Well, actually, I have two favorites. But this is one of them.
Homemade Oreos. I make these and, suddenly, I have a million friends. Those friends are called “extra pounds”. And they look good by my side. The way to make these friends is to eat all of the Oreos yourself. Plain and simple.
Enjoy!
Homemade Oreos
1 pkg. Devils Food cake mix
½ c shortening
2 eggs
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Roll out into balls that are just a hair smaller than bouncy balls. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 7-8 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Frosting
1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese
4 Tbsp. butter
2 Tsp. Vanilla
3 – 3 ½ c powdered sugar
Blend ingredients together. Tint with food coloring, if desired. Frost the BACKS of the cookies and sandwich together. Devour. The end.

Love the idea. I am currently addicted to those blessed little cookies. One question though, how many does this recipe make? Thanks

Hi Tamma!
I’m glad to hear you’re as addicted as I am. Depending on the size you roll out, this recipe can make 18-24 sandwiches. I like mine as big as my palms so I can get about 18 out of the batch.
Hope that helps!
