It’s time for another frozen treat! I don’t really like to go too long between sharing frozen goodness. It just makes me uneasy. This recipe for pudding pops is one straight outta my childhood. My grandmother tended us a lot while I was growing up and she always made these for us. She had a big deep freezer filled with popsicles, ice cream, and all sorts of frozen treats. But I always went for the puddin’ pop. I shared the recipe for these babies over on Style Me Pretty Living the other day and thought I’d share it here as well in case you missed it over there! They’re made with sugar-free pudding, but you can’t tell. It’s like you’re eating frozen fudge on a stick, I tell you! And what’s better than frozen fudge on a stick!?!
Make your own homemade fudge pudding pops
INGREDIENTS:
1 package package chocolate fudge instant pudding
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup whipped cream
2 cups milk
Combine all the ingredients and whisk until mixed well. The mix will start to resemble a pudding mixture rather quickly. Fill each popsicle mold with a little of the pudding mix. Place a dollop of whipped cream over that, and then layer one more dollop of the pudding mix on top. Place a popsicle stick in each mold and place in your freezer for at least an hour. Gently remove each fudge pop from the mold (running under cold water for a few seconds helps!) and enjoy!
These also have an ice cream-like texture and are the perfect way to celebrate National Ice Cream Month! So keep on keepin’ on with the frozen-ness. Bonus: this recipe can be made with any pudding mixture. Not a chocolate fan? Try banana! I’m thinking pistachio might be my next adventure. What about yours?
